On-site Storage Capacity

How to Determine Your On-site Cryogenic Liquid Storage
Capacity

For hydril tubes, tube trailers and cylinder packs, please reference your contract to determine your on-site storage capacity. For standard cryogenic tank storage capacity, you can also reference your contract—or you can estimate your capacity through our APDirect® customer portal by following these steps:

  1. Log into the MyAirProducts customer portal.
  2. Click on “Inventory Management” on the left.
  3. Enter your Account Number (Ship-To) for the tank you would like to find the capacity for and click “Search”.
  4. Scroll down to the “description” column.
    • The first part of the description lists the product (Ar = Argon, CO = Carbon Monoxide, He = Helium, H2 = Hydrogen, N2 = Nitrogen, O2 = Oxygen).
    • The second part of the description lists the capacity.
      • If there is an ‘M’ or ‘X’ after the first numerical value listed, multiply the value by 10 to obtain gallons.
      • If there is an ‘MM’ or ‘XX’ after the first numerical value, multiply the value by 10000 to obtain gallons.
      • If there is an ‘L’ after the first numerical value, this means you have a Microbulk tank, and capacity is the numerical value listed before the ‘L,’ expressed in liters. Do not multiply the value by another number. Simply move to step 5.
  5. Convert Gallons to Pounds or Liters to Pounds using our interactive conversion tool. See the following examples:
    • Description = N2 600M-250-102. This is a nitrogen tank with a capacity of 6000 gallons, which converts to 40482.607 pounds.
    • Description = O2 1.1MM-250-698. This means the tank is used for Oxygen, and the capacity is 11000 gallons, which converts to 104763.9 pounds.
    • Description = Ar 1500L-350-A127. This means the tank is used for Argon, and the capacity is 1500 liters, which converts to 4607.981 pounds.
